From the St. Louis Extreme Founder and President
"The biggest problem with youth sports has been the parents. As an organization, we ask parents to grasp that this experience is ALL about the girls. The girls are expected to play with respect for their teammates, coaches, opposition, and the umpires. The parents are expected to respect the coaches, other parents, and the umpires no matter what the circumstances are. " -Cynthia Baker
Purpose and Goals
The St. Louis Extreme Softball Club is a competitive club focusing on developing softball players with the dedication and intentions of playing at the highest level possible. We demand hard work, dedication and sportsmanship from each of our players. In return, the coaching staff maximizes team and individual play through proper training and motivation. We will teach, learn, and play the game to the best of our ability every single time! We are devoted to providing our athletes premier training programs and facilities. Our program is designed to prepare players for college.
We strive to teach age-appropriate fundamentals and techniques of the game, with the goal of competing at the highest level. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that each and every player who has the desire and passion to play the game is equipped with the physical and mental ability to play beyond high school. Our teams build and promote good character, and play with great passion and energy. Proper sportsmanship is also a high expectation for all coaches, players and families involved.
The St. Louis Extreme Softball Club was established in 2009 to provide the premier environment in the St. Louis area for youth and high school fast-pitch softball players. Cynthia Baker decided to bring her coaching and high level fast-pitch playing experience to the young ladies of the St. Louis area as she saw a need for a club to provide lower-cost/higher effort training to its players. Cynthia took a trip to visit Mickey DeBold (former professional player for St. Louis Hummers) to request that she join her on her mission to offer these young ladies a multitude of opportunities from development to mental toughness. As a result, the St. Louis Extreme was born from a simple desire from the heart of two former players to contribute to the St. Louis fast-pitch community.
