Champions Village - Indoor Training Facility

10/22/2018

St. Louis Extreme is excited about moving to the new Fenton training facility - Champions Village! This location will replace the current Balls N Strikes workout location in Fenton. We are sad to see BNS close up shop but very excited about our new partnership and being a part of something big!

Champions Village is a new 35,000 square foot state of the art facility set to open in November. The facility features 11 batting lanes, 5 pitching lanes, a large dedicated Hit-Trax lane, an indoor practice field, strength and conditioning gym, youth wellness center, and a family lobby/waiting area.

Unbelievable that winter workouts are just around the corner!

Emilee Rooney Commits to Iowa Wesleyan University

1/29/2018

Congratulations to Emilee Rooney. Emilee will be heading to Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa after she graduates from Francis Howell in May 2018.

Emilee has grown up with a bat in one hand and a glove on the other.  From the time she could walk, Emilee’s parents, Jim and Jan could see the softball passion in Emilee’s eyes. Not only would she be a great softball player, but she’d grow up into a loving young lady who wants to pay forward the support she’s been given.

Emilee has been a part of the St. Louis Extreme organization for many years. She played 14U and 16U for Coach Mickey DeBold. Coach DeBold helped Emilee become an outstanding catcher. Coach DeBold believed in Emilee from the start and after countless hours of practice not much gets past Emilee – and watch out if you’re trying to steal a base. Emilee’s got a mean arm and quick release. She currently plays 18U for Coach Brittany Harper and is the Team Captain. She’s looking forward to traveling with the 18U team to Colorado along with several other out-of-town tournaments.

Emilee is a senior at Franics Howell and has played softball for the Vikings all four years of high school. In 2017, the Vikings made it to the State Final Four. After graduation, Emilee will continue to play softball at Iowa Wesleyan University for Coach Mike Hampton. She will major in Elementary Education. Emilee wants to be a science teacher and hopes to one day become a softball coach. She will make an outstanding educator and coach!

“We're so glad to have her on our team because we know we can trust her on those bases,” Faron said. “She's a smart base runner, making calls on her own. She knows when to use her speed.”

But the freshman's values doesn't end at the plate or on the bases.  Bethany is the top pitching choice for the Kougars as she leads the team with 67 innings pitched.

“As a freshman, Mya has put up a strong season,” Faron said. “She's proven to be an all-around leader.”

Rosati-Kain freshman Mya Bethany has hit the ground running during her first season of high school softball.

Bethany's 31 stolen bases put her among area leaders.

“When I get the steal sign, the only thought is that I have to get there,” said Bethany, who is an outfielder and also pitches. “I also always slide, no matter where the ball is at any time. I know I have to be ready to pop up if the ball is overthrown. The key to base-running is being ready to whatever I need to do to get to that next base.

Bethany has had plenty of success getting on base to put herself in position to steal bases for Rosati-Kain (7-14). Bethany is hitting .527 with a .545 on-base percentage and a team-high 22 runs scored.
